What will the weather be like?
Late May in Charleston is typically warm and humid, with daytime temperatures in the 80s. Light fabrics and sun protection are encouraged. It is also peak beach season for Memorial Day weekend—Folly Beach, Isle of Palms, and Sullivan’s Island are all great options if you plan to spend time by the water. Beach traffic can be heavy on the holiday weekend, so arriving early is recommended.
Are there things to do if we extend our stay?
Absolutely. Charleston offers beaches, historic sites, shopping, golf, great food, and outdoor activities; perfect for a long weekend. See our things to do page for more!
Are restaurants busy this weekend?
Yes. Reservations are highly encouraged, especially for dinner and brunch spots.
