Jacob and Jillian’s story began in Charleston in the most modern way possible: online dating, courtesy of Hinge. Jacob, originally from Macon, Georgia, had moved to Charleston with his family, while Jillian had recently arrived from Michigan, chasing a new adventure in a city she quickly grew to love.

Their first date took place on February 8, 2022, at The Griffon, a historic downtown Charleston bar that proved to be the perfect setting for the start of something special. What began as a simple date soon grew into a relationship filled with laughter, love, and shared experiences.

Over the past four years together, Jacob and Jillian have built a life full of meaningful moments, including sunset picnics at the beach, long walks with their dogs, cozy cabin weekends in the mountains, cooking their favorite meals together, laid-back rounds of golf, and cheering on the South Carolina Gamecocks at football games in Columbia with all the traditions that make game day special. One of their biggest adventures came when they moved in together and began a new chapter in Columbia, where Jacob is pursuing medical school at the University of South Carolina, turning a new city into home side by side.

Jacob proposed at sunset on the Pitt Street Bridge, complete with yet another picnic and champagne. It was everything Jillian had dreamed of and more, the perfect moment to begin their next chapter together.
